So can college even help?

The answer to that is a resounding YES!  It just not be as direct as you want.  Here are some ways that college helps those getting into SEO.

1. Good study habits will help you pick up on trends that other will miss.  Picking up books and checking out blogs will only further your knowledge of SEO

2. Writing is never out of style and learning to do it in college is perfect for SEO, especially understanding good grammar.

3. Understanding marketing and business will help you with SEO as you are able to see the bigger picture.

4. Learning how to network in college can help tremendously when you take it to the social media world and learn how to get your stuff out there online.

5. Understanding statistics will help you compute data and reporting.  This is a huge part of SEO and will completely enhance your career.
